About Drew Minh

I am an American writer based in Mallorca, Spain. Before turning to fiction full-time, I spent years inside the digital media machine in Los Angeles, seeing firsthand how attention is engineered. Experiences in this world opened my eyes to the potential misuse of this technology. You can read about some of my experiences (and how they shaped Neon Empire): Generation #Ad, Engines of Polarization and We're All in a Tabloid Now.

My fiction has appeared in 3AM Magazine, Word Riot, and Litro Magazine, among others. In an earlier life in Barcelona and Paris, I wrote a fictional crime column for Spanish weekly newspapers.

News

That's a wrap. My next book, Celine, is finished. While Neon Empire was concerned with spectacle, this one turns inward and explores what happens when we surrender the autonomy of our minds.

A disgraced tech mogul uses an illicit neural implant to build a private island cult and reclaim her empire—but the system she’s running is turning on her, and the journalist she recruits to document her rise may be the one variable that unravels her.
